The following recalls have been announced:
_ Dealer Joe's Co. of Monrovia, Calif., is recalling select lot codes of 7.4-ounce boxes of chocolate sherd chewy coated granola bars, because they could be contaminated with salmonella. This living thing that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the old fogies and those with weakened immune systems. The recalled bars were manufactured by Bloomfield Bakery, a subsidiary of Ralcorp Holdings Inc. No disease has been reported. Details: by phone at 626-599-3817.
_ About 600,000 wind chime toys, manufactured in China and distributed by Itsy-bitsy Love Inc. of New York, N.Y., and the Maya Group Inc. of Huntington Beach, Calif., because they can make apart and expose sharp metal rods. An additional 200,000 were recalled in Canada. The comrades has received five reports of babies pulling chimes apart to divulge the rods, including one report of a 24-month-old boy puncturing his cheek. The chimes were sold at Toys "R" Us, Wal-Mart, Quarry, Buy Buy Baby and TJ Maxx stores around the country between February 2002 and February 2010.
